The Northwest Dyno Series’ SuperFlow chassis dyno was reserved for the annual Daily Driven Performance and Idaho Diesel Adventures Dyno Day event in Jerome, Idaho—and Jake Rodriguez went for broke. His goal? Go for 3,600-rwhp and set the new world record in the process. When the load hit—and somewhere around the 2,000-rwhp mark—the manifold turbo checked out, its turbine wheel ripped through the oil supply line and kicked off a fiery finish. Jake knew he was under-wastegated for the attempt but, because the same setup had already made 3,000 hp previously, he decided to give it a shot. Rest assured, Jake and his fire-breathing Cummins will return. Go ahead and mark him down for coming after the 4K mark in the future…

Aside from the always-exciting truck and tractor pull, the annual Scheid Diesel Extravaganza enjoyed a solid drag race spectator turnout for 2025. The stands were packed for the waning rounds of Outlaw Diesel Super Series drag racing, and rightfully so. The Extravaganza served as the final event of the ODSS season. And while some classes were officially sewed up by leaders with sizeable point leads heading into the weekend, others came from behind to earn their championship. Such was the case for Jeremy Stickney, who came into SDX 40-plus points behind front-runner Chris Naudain yet, by pulling off the win (and Chris not advancing as far as he would’ve like), inched past him for the season trophy. The stars also aligned for Jordan Blackard, whose runner-up finish at the Extravaganza earned him the 2025 ET Bracket class championship.

It’s closing in on go-time for David Petrick’s newest drag racing endeavor. His 4x4 diesel Pro Mod is still in the fabrication phase at Firepunk Diesel, but you can definitely make out a vehicle at this point. The rear end is done, with the axle in place, the shocks mounted, along with the anti-roll bar. For safety, a 20-pound fire suppression system is on board in the rear. Up front, the billet-aluminum Wagler Cummins is being mocked up and the front axle is installed. In the weeks ahead, the front drive shaft (spanning from an SCS quick change transfer case to a fabricated front axle) will be fully enclosed and the rest of the roll bar finished up. Then it's off to the paint booth.

Morale for Customs and Border Patrol Agents is reportedly low. So the federal government is doing something about it, with its vehicles. In the recent past, many highly customized vehicles (like a custom Raptor and Yukon) have been publicized, and the next purchase has just been made. A few weeks ago two Mustang GT's were sold to the Federal Government. Reportedly, these are to be used, among other ways, for recruitment events. The procurement document included this statement: “The Ford Mustang GT enhances recruitment efforts in support of the USC Title 8 mission and HR 1 OBBBA recruiting, by serving as a bold, high-performance symbol of innovation, strength and modern federal service,”. We couldn't find any images of the exact vehicles, but apparently they have been seen driving around the DC area donning the ICE logo and the words "Defend the homeland" on the side.

Here it is, confirmation that driving faster as opposed to slower on the interstate is safer—much safer. According to the Institute of Transportation Engineers, studies have revealed that traveling just 10 mph under the posted highway speed limit makes you as much as six times more likely to be involved in an accident. According to Music Factory’s Facebook page, the outlet that helped break the news, “the problem isn’t caution itself—it’s the speed gap. On fast-moving roads, well-intentioned drivers who “play it safe” by going under the limit often become unexpected obstacles. Road safety isn’t only about avoiding speed—it’s about keeping pace with the flow [of traffic] and driving predictably.” Our advice: just flow with traffic and you’ll encounter fewer vehicles along your journey (i.e. you’ll be safest).

GM has issued a stop-sale and voluntary recall for 2023-2026 Z06 Corvettes and 2025-2026 ZR1 models due to a potential fire risk when refueling. Although GM has yet to issue an official diagnosis for the cause (or a solution), the automaker has promised a remedy will be forthcoming. Some reports indicate that the fire risk may be the result of faulty gas pumps that don’t automatically turning off when the tank is full. In these cases, excess gasoline is sometimes allowed to make its way out of the fuel filler pocket and onto an ignition source. On Z06 and ZR1 models, that source could be the left side radiator and fan combination.
